One of the unspoken questions when a remodeling project begins is: who exactly will be the workers entering your home, often without you being present, and installing your project?  As a homeowner, you would like to imagine that all those people are clean and courteous and will be treating your home with the care that you would yourself.  After all you’re writing a large check for this project – the workers in your home must be of high quality, right?

This past week Jeff and Rohan were at a client’s home installing the custom office we designed for them.  The client had hired a reputable builder to work on the rest of the home.  What they saw was disturbing.

In the kitchen, a plumber had unhinged two new cherry cabinet doors and put them directly on top of the metal grills on the client’s new Viking stovetop.  He had left his metal toolbox right on their new granite countertops and he also tracked slush all over the client’s newly refinished wood floor.

This is the type of thing Jeff loses sleep over.

“If that was my crew in that house, they would no longer be working for me,” Jeff commented after he left the kitchen.  When Jeff supervises and installs cabinetry in your home, you can walk in at any given moment to check on the progress.  You will walk into a job site that is always organized and tidy.  At the end of the project much care will go into ensuring that the space will be cleaner than it was when the project began.  On our projects you will see workmen placing your materials on padded sheets.  You will see workmen wearing shoe covers taking care not to damage any finishes in your home.  Unlike what you may have seen from other work crews.
